Jennifer Patano, Dipl.Ac., MS, MSN, PNP, RN
Licensed Acupuncturist and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist who earned my Master of Science in Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture, where I received training in three styles: Traditional Chinese Medicine, Trigger Point Dry Needling, and Japanese acupuncture. In addition, I am completing a 2-year internship in advanced Japanese acupuncture techniques. The focus of my treatment philosophy addresses the roots of body imbalance through Japanese meridian therapy, an approach that incorporates hara (abdominal) palpation, meridian palpation, and distal point treatments, as well as magnet and diode therapy. Other treatment techniques include: Trigger Point Dry Needling, Auricular Acupuncture, Tui Na Chinese Massage, Gua Sha, Zero Balancing, and Reiki. I also utilizes many gentle, non-needling techniques appropriate for both children and needle-sensitive adults.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New York University, where I also received training in Therapeutic Touch. I completed a Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Pennsylvania and have worked for over 10 years as a Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in several fields of pediatric medicine, including: Neonatal Intensive Care, Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, and Biochemical and Metabolic Disorders. In my current position as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in The Division of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore, I also volunteer time to provide acupuncture treatments to pediatric oncology patients. I am also a licensed yoga teacher.
I am truly inspired by acupuncture and its ability to help in both acute and chronic conditions. I am grateful for the opportunity to encourage the body to find its own innate ability for healing and transformation!
